Violet Baudelaire's hands were constantly injured-- little burns from welding things, small cuts from sharp metal edges. She was careful, but sometimes being careful isn't enough.
Klaus Baudelaire almost always had a papercut on one of his fingers. He couldn't help turning pages quickly; he was eager to read, and paid less attention to his skin than to the words.
Sunny Baudelaire had an infant's resilience; her only perpetual problem was chapped lips. She just liked to chew things, and sometimes they chewed back.
There was always something for them in the medicine cabine-- aloe vera for Violet, bandages for Klaus, balm for Sunny. The charred metal box held only ashes when they found it.
